Stranger Things animated spinoff scores quick Season 2 renewal and release date
Netflix is wasting no time with the next chapter of its animated Stranger Things spinoff. According to MovieWeb, the streamer has confirmed that 'Stranger Things: Tales From '85' Season 2 will premiere on September 17, 2026.
The speedy follow-up comes just months after the show's debut on April 23, 2026. The outlet reports that the series, which is set between Seasons 2 and 3 of the main show and follows Eleven and the gang in winter 1985, was renewed for a second season only five days after its first season launched.
Per the report, Season 2 picks up right after the first season finale. The show's synopsis, as relayed by MovieWeb, promises that the toxic influence of the Upside Down will bleed into Hawkins's winter, leading to higher stakes and new mutated creatures.
Showrunner Eric Robles told Netflix Tudum that the new season will explore uncharted territory, mentioning a previously unseen mine in Hawkins. The kids will also have to deal with typical adolescent pressures alongside the supernatural crisis.
The synopsis describes a new threat involving spectral sightings and a infestation of malicious fairy-like beings. The Hawkins Investigators Club must stop these events before a fresh gate to the Upside Down is torn open.
