Sylvester Stallone Wants Amazon to Let Him Fix Rocky V With a New Cut

Sylvester Stallone is making a play to redeem a franchise misfire. Per MovieWeb, the actor has confirmed he is negotiating with Amazon MGM Studios for permission to create a director's cut of 1990's 'Rocky V'.

During a SiriusXM interview, Stallone said he's asked the studio for three weeks to re-edit the film, expressing total confidence he can make it better. He has previously called the movie a lasting regret.

The fifth 'Rocky' installment was critically savaged for its plot, which saw the boxer lose his wealth instantly, and for a final street brawl that didn't land with audiences. Stallone's proposed changes would include digging up original footage and replacing the much-criticized rap-heavy soundtrack with more of Bill Conti's original score.

Whether Amazon gives the project a thumbs-up is still pending.
