Take-Two CEO says GTA 6 on a disc doesn't make sense for consumers
Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of GTA parent company Take-Two, recently suggested a physical edition of Grand Theft Auto VI might be pointless. Per GameSpot, he told IGN that over 90% of the company's sales are now digital, and most players "need to be connected" anyway.
He argued that for massive games like GTA 6, discs "don't really make sense for the consumer." However, the exec hasn't completely ruled out the possibility of a boxed copy hitting store shelves.
It seems the era of mandatory physical media for blockbuster releases is officially over, at least according to the top brass at Rockstar's publisher.
