Texas Chain Saw Massacre getting bizarre rotoscoped animated remake

Leatherface is trading in his chainsaw for a stylus, as a new animated version of the horror classic is officially in the works. MovieWeb reports a reimagining of the 1974 film 'The Texas Chain Saw Massacre' is now underway.

According to JoBlo, this won't be your typical cartoon. The project is being created as a hand-drawn animated experience, using the technique of rotoscoping over the original film. It's a truly unexpected and wild twist for the gritty slasher property.

Fans can expect this bizarre new take on the Sawyer family saga to arrive in 2027.
