The Last of Us Season 3 adds John Goodman and game voice stars
HBO's The Last of Us is bringing in some heavy hitters for its third and reportedly final season. According to Variety, John Goodman has joined the cast of the post-apocalyptic drama. He'll be playing a character named Joey.
He won't be alone on the highway. Per Collider, Goodman's Joey is one half of a duo dubbed the "Heroes of the Highway." The other half, a character named Paco, will be played by Ian Alexander.
The casting also brings back two key voices from the original video games, but in brand new roles. As reported by TheWrap, Laura Bailey and Ian Alexander, who voiced Abby and Lev in *The Last of Us: Part II*, are joining the live-action series. Bailey will play Elizabeth, a leader within the religious Seraphites faction.
This marks a return for Bailey, who had a brief cameo as a nurse in the show's first season. Alexander is known for his role as Buck Vu in *The OA*.
Season 3 is expected to adapt the latter portion of *The Last of Us: Part II*, shifting focus to Kaitlyn Dever's Abby following the events of Season 2. The new season is slated for a 2027 debut on HBO.
