The Odyssey smashes box office records for Nolan and IMAX
Christopher Nolan's latest blockbuster has sailed past a major milestone. Per Variety, 'The Odyssey' is now the director's highest-grossing film ever, having pulled in a whopping $1.1 billion globally. That figure pushes it ahead of 2012's 'The Dark Knight Rises'.
It's also making history on the biggest screens. TheWrap reports the epic has become IMAX's highest-grossing release of all time, overtaking James Cameron's 'Avatar'. The film has already earned $289 million in the premium format alone, with more markets still to open.
