The Remarried Empress sets November streaming premiere on Disney+ and Hulu
Disney+ and Hulu have locked in a November debut for the Korean drama "The Remarried Empress," per Variety. The series, which adapts a massively popular webtoon, will run for ten episodes.
The story follows Empress Navier and Emperor Sovieshu, whose royal marriage crumbles when the emperor becomes infatuated with an escaped slave named Rashta. Navier agrees to a divorce on the condition she can marry a rival ruler, Crown Prince Heinrey, sparking a power struggle.
The cast includes Shin Mina as Navier, Ju Jihoon as Sovieshu, Lee Jongsuk as Heinrey, and Lee Seyoung as Rashta. The adaptation was written by Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choongyeol, with director Cho Suwon at the helm. Disney+ noted filming took place at European palaces and other elaborate sets.
The show will first be seen publicly with a three-episode screening at an international film festival in Busan this October. Its full streaming rollout begins with a four-episode drop on November 4 on the platforms.
New installments will then be released weekly, with two episodes arriving every Wednesday. The season finale is scheduled for November 25.
