The Witcher 3 Remastered officially integrates popular HD mod
The upcoming remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is getting a major visual boost courtesy of a top community modder. According to VGC and PC Gamer, the modder known as HalkHogan, creator of the widely downloaded HD Reworked Project, has been working directly with CD Projekt Red.
HalkHogan confirmed the collaboration in a forum post, stating his work will be officially included when the remaster launches on September 29 for PC and consoles. He noted that the standalone HD Reworked Project mod will become obsolete.
Rock Paper Shotgun reports that the modder's contributions touch nearly every visual aspect of the game. This includes updated models for characters, creatures, gear, and natural scenery throughout the world.
This marks the second time CD Projekt Red has brought HalkHogan on board, following his work on the game's 2022 next-gen update. PC Gamer notes the studio's executive producer called the mod "something which is bringing great visual improvement across the whole game."
The remastered version was showcased with new footage during Gamescom 2026.
