Tom Cruise Set to Rev Up 'Days of Thunder 2'

Tom Cruise is gearing up for another lap on the track. According to an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount is fast-tracking a sequel to the 1990 racing drama 'Days of Thunder'.

The outlet reports that Jonathan Levine is in talks to direct, with Cruise reprising his role as NASCAR driver Cole Trickle. The project is still in early development, but the engine is definitely turning over.

This marks a major return to a classic Cruise character from the high-octane '90s era. Whether he'll be trading paint or just dispensing wisdom remains to be seen.
