Tubi’s horror comedy Buzzkill gets September 2026 release date
A horror comedy titled Buzzkill is coming to Tubi this fall, but it's not the movie you might be thinking of. According to JoBlo, this is a separate, original film from the platform, set to debut on September 25, 2026.
The film stars Siena Agudong and Brec Bassinger and follows a group of sorority sisters trapped with a murderer. Agudong plays Nora, whose drunken memories may hold the clues to identifying the killer, per the outlet's report.
Jem Garrard directed from a screenplay by Suzanne Keilly. The project is produced by Blue Ice Pictures.
Agudong told The Hollywood Reporter, as relayed by JoBlo, that the director encouraged the cast to play with genre tropes. Garrard described the film as "unapologetically fun and ridiculous" and praised Agudong's comic instincts.
This Tubi film is distinct from another horror comedy also called Buzzkill, which is being directed by Joe Lynch and has a different premise involving a creature visible only to drunk people. The Tubi version is a YA slasher comedy.
