Until Dawn 2 gets PS5 release date and new narrative collaborator
Sony has locked in a winter release date for Until Dawn 2, with the horror sequel hitting PS5 on January 28 of next year. The date was announced during a recent State of Play showcase, per Eurogamer.
The sequel trades the original's snowy mountains for a tropical island setting. Players will follow a TV ghosthunting crew called the Dead True as they investigate the abandoned Akishima Island. One familiar face from the first game is confirmed to return: Peter Stormare will once again portray the unsettling psychiatrist Dr. Hill.
Development is led by Firesprite Games, but the studio has brought in outside help for the story. IGN reports that AdHoc Studio, the narrative-focused team responsible for the 2025 game Dispatch, has collaborated on the project.
In a blog post cited by both outlets, Firesprite's creative director said the partnership aims to deliver a layered story with tough choices and dramatic consequences. A Deluxe Digital Edition launching the same day will add cosmetic outfits and a 'Diorama of Death' feature showcasing each character's demise.
