Victor Miller, who wrote the original screenplay for the horror film "Friday the 13th," has died at 86, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
His son, Ian Miller, confirmed the news in a post on Instagram. He shared a heartfelt tribute to his father.
"He was almost always the smartest, funniest person in whatever room he was in," Ian Miller wrote, per the outlet's report. He also said his father "inspired in me, and many others, a love of photography, music, and storytelling."
The writer's passing marks the end for a key creative voice behind one of horror's most enduring franchises.
