Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 confirms Apothecary class for 2027
The long-running fan speculation is over. According to a report from IGN, publisher Focus Entertainment has confirmed that the Apothecary will be the new class joining Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
Focus told IGN that players correctly guessed the addition. The Apothecary is scheduled to arrive in the game's first major update of 2027, labeled as Patch 17. A special Champion skin for the class will follow in a subsequent update.
The announcement came as part of a detailed Year 3 roadmap. Patch 15 is set for October 1, introducing the Chaos Siege mode and a One-Handed Thunder Hammer. A new PvP mode with Weekly Stratagems arrives in Patch 16 before the year ends.
Looking further ahead, 2027 will also bring new Operations, weapons, and reworks to core gameplay systems. Focus teased additional unlisted features and new customization options that will expand choices by a third.
The roadmap includes five new Cosmetic and Champion Packs as DLC, though the final one's details are currently hidden.
