Warhammer YouTuber quits after 10 years amid takedowns and threats

A prominent Warhammer content creator is shutting down his channel after a decade, citing aggressive copyright takedowns and a toxic online environment. According to IGN, the Australian YouTuber known as Macca, who ran The Outer Circle channel, is calling it quits.

Macca's channel focused on the Horus Heresy tabletop game and featured both hobby guides and sharp criticism of publisher Games Workshop's pricing and policies. Things escalated recently when Games Workshop issued DMCA takedowns against Macca's own 3D-printed miniature designs sold on Cults 3D, per the report.

In a farewell video titled "The End," Macca detailed his frustration. He claimed to have received death threats and attempted doxxing over the years. "I'm arguing with idiots," he said, per the video transcript. He argued his critiques were moral, stemming from a belief that Games Workshop takes its community for granted and will "kill a game system if they think there is a dollar to be made."

Macca admitted he's been talking to Games Workshop's IP staff but sees little hope for a resolution. He denied being motivated by profit, saying he often made his designs free and charged less than others. The final straw, he said, was the constant hostility from parts of the fanbase defending the company.

The situation reflects a broader clash within the Warhammer community over 3D printing and Games Workshop's famously aggressive protection of its intellectual property, which includes the phrase "Space Marines."
