Wicker scores one-night-only 4DX screenings after fan demand

The upcoming romantic fable Wicker is getting a special, immersive theatrical run. According to TheWrap, the film will play in 4DX for a single night on October 28.

Black Bear, the studio behind the film, announced the event was prompted by audience requests following the trailer's release and the movie's festival appearances. A company executive stated that fans requested the 4DX format immediately after seeing the preview.

The 4DX technology uses moving seats synced to effects like wind, water, and scents to match the on-screen action. It's typically reserved for big action films, but will now be applied to this offbeat story.

Directors Eleanor Wilson and Alex Huston Fischer reportedly thought the idea was a prank at first, but now call it spectacular. The film stars Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård, Peter Dinklage, and Elizabeth Debicki.

Tickets for the October 28 screening are available now.
