Wolverine's Scent Trails Are Now Optional With a Hint Button Toggle

A new patch for Marvel's Wolverine finally lets players switch off the game's story-related scent trails. According to IGN, the update adds a 'Hint' button, mapped to R3 on the PS5 controller, to toggle the feature on and off.
Insomniac Games stated on social media that the change was made directly in response to player complaints. Fans had argued the persistent visual trails were too guiding and hampered exploration.
The patch also makes other navigational assists optional. Players can now control whether they see visual audio prompts and markers for nightmare roots, letting them find key locations like the Nightmare Cabin unaided.
This follows earlier adjustments where Insomniac reduced the opacity of scent trails and made certain collectible trails optional. The latest update includes fixes for crashes and other bugs reported by the community.
