Xbox layoffs slash Elder Scrolls Online team, but studio insists game's not dead
The latest round of Xbox layoffs has gutted the team behind The Elder Scrolls Online, according to Eurogamer. The cuts at ZeniMax Online Studios have players worried the MMO is being put into a 'maintenance mode' with no big updates planned.
ZeniMax insists this isn't the end, per PC Gamer. The studio now claims it's about the same size it was a decade ago. That's a rough silver lining after multiple rounds of job losses.
The community is left to wonder just how much new content they can expect going forward. For now, the studio says the adventure continues, but the team is a shadow of its former self.
