Xbox sales surge while PlayStation and Nintendo numbers drop in June
June was a surprisingly strong month for Xbox in the US, even as the rest of the console market stumbled, according to a new report.
The latest sales data from Circana, reported by GameSpot, shows Xbox Series X|S unit sales more than doubled compared to June 2025, jumping 86%. It was the best month for Xbox sales so far in 2026.
However, Eurogamer notes the broader market picture is bleak, with a near-universal decline in spending. Xbox was the only console platform to grow year-on-year. On the software side, Kotaku reports the game 'Meccha Chameleon' sold an estimated 4 million copies, making it the second-best-selling title in the US last month.
