Yellowjackets final season teaser features MTV News rescue report
Get ready for the rescue timeline. The Hollywood Reporter reveals a new promotional clip for Yellowjackets’ last season features a fake MTV News broadcast announcing the team’s survival.
The teaser shows anchor Serena Altschul delivering the big news: “After 19 months, the Wiskayok High Yellowjackets have been FOUND and rescued.” According to THR, the show collaborated directly with Altschul to film a new segment, then used visual effects to merge that new footage with classic MTV clips.
The series has jumped between the 1998 wilderness crash and the present-day survivors. Season three ended with the teens on the verge of salvation, setting up this long-teased storyline about their return to society.
The promo hints at a chaotic homecoming, with crowds cheering outside MTV’s TRL studios. It also recreates a moment where Alanis Morissette dedicates an “Unplugged” song to the girls, calling them a “symbol of hope.”
The final season, premiering November 20, will star Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, and Simone Kessell, among others.
