Yellowjackets taps MTV's Kurt Loder to announce final season premiere date
The final season of Yellowjackets finally has a return date, announced in a nostalgic throwback teaser featuring former MTV News anchor Kurt Loder.
The Hollywood Reporter shares that the streaming service released a short video packed with 1990s-era TVs. The screens show clips from the series mixed with fake news reports about the soccer team's rescue. The classic MTV News logo features prominently, with Loder appearing on one set to deliver the update about the teens being found in Canada.
The rescue was set in motion at the end of season three, when Natalie managed to use a satellite phone. Co-creator Ashley Lyle previously told THR that exploring the characters' return to society and its new horrors was a compelling prospect for the final chapter.
The ensemble cast for the last season includes returning players Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, and Tawny Cypress, alongside Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, and others.
