Young Ducky Confirmed to Return in NCIS: Origins Season 3
The young version of Dr. Donald 'Ducky' Mallard will be back on the case. Per TVLine, actor Adam Campbell is set to return as a recurring character in the upcoming third season of 'NCIS: Origins'.
Showrunner David J. North confirmed the news to the outlet, expressing his excitement about the character's return. North teased that Campbell's appearances will explore the early foundation of the iconic friendship between Gibbs and Ducky.
Campbell played the role in two episodes of the prequel's second season, with his storylines appearing conclusively wrapped at the time. His method of return remains under wraps, but North offered a vague hint about the circumstances.
According to TVLine, the showrunner suggested Ducky's involvement in a Season 3 investigation will unfold through an unexpected and novel entrance, contrasting with his prior cameos.
Campbell first appeared on the mothership series in flashback sequences. His 'Origins' debut was in a tribute episode for the late David McCallum, where Ducky evaluated the need for a medical examiner at Camp Pendleton.
