The Real Review
It's a mixed bag, mostly positive because of the show's charm and fun 90s style, but the writing is the problem. People like Lexi Minetree's Elle, and the high school antics can be funny and sweet, but the story itself feels unoriginal and gets slammed for being a predictable, watered-down version of the character's origin. The real love goes to the small details like the fashion and Elle's dog Bruiser, while the core plot and some supporting characters like Dustin or Kimberly often fall flat.
