Updated nightlyDisclosure Day mostly lands as a letdown, a big alien thriller with a decent cast that can't make its story feel fresh or moving. Josh O'Connor plays cybersecurity whistleblower Dr. Daniel Kellner, on the run from a corporation, while Emily Blunt's Margaret Fairchild is the meteorologist who teams up with him, and that plot mostly gets called thin, recycled, and badly paced. Blunt is the clearest win, with Colman Domingo getting some support too, but the rest of the cast doesn't do much to save the movie. The visuals get some credit, the acting gets more, and some even find the humor works, but that's not enough to make the aliens and the Disclosure Day premise feel worth chasing. If you're watching for Blunt, it's fine; if you're watching for Spielberg, this one mostly misses.
