Spades is a slick, satisfying vigilante thriller that pretty much nails what it's trying to do. Johnny Yong Bosch is a magnetic lead, playing the mysterious Spades, and his performance as the detective hunting a vigilante who's targeting a rising crime syndicate is the movie's rock-solid foundation. The story, while not groundbreaking, moves with purpose and gets the job done. For fans of the genre, this is a straightforward win.
