What people are saying
Updated nightlyMahershala Ali is the central draw as Latif, a devoutly religious hitman racing across Houston to protect his children after his wife dies, and the performances are the main reason people like it. The story and visuals get strong praise, so the film lands as an emotional character piece with real texture. Bassam Tariq’s direction gets some pushback, John Cho’s Pastor Kwan splits people, and a few voices find the pacing drags. The premise, a Muslim hitman trying to balance faith and fatherhood, gives it enough punch that the positives stick harder than the complaints.
