A long-dormant LA theater is now the top spot for 'The Odyssey' in 70mm
Christopher Nolan's latest epic, 'The Odyssey,' has found an unlikely box office champion. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the highest-grossing venue for the film's prestigious 70mm format is Glendale's historic Alex Theatre.
The twist? The theater hadn't screened a new movie in 35 years. Its last first-run film was 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' back in 1991.
Now fully refurbished, the movie palace's success has been so strong that TheWrap reports its run of 'The Odyssey' has been extended by two weeks, playing through August 20.
