A24 Teams With V/H/S Producers for SCP Foundation Horror Movie
The popular online horror mythos known as the SCP Foundation is getting a theatrical movie. According to TheWrap, A24 is developing the project alongside producers from the "V/H/S" franchise, with a release targeted for 2027.
The film will be co-produced by Roy Lee and Steven Schneider of Spooky Pictures, and Josh Goldbloom and Michael Schreiber, who have both worked on several "V/H/S" installments. Image Nation Studios is also involved.
In a joint statement, execs from the companies said internet lore is becoming a key source for new horror stories with built-in audiences. They cited A24's success with the "Backrooms" movie as proof of their strategy to bring online worlds to theaters.
The SCP film will be the next entry in the "V/H/S" series, following a music-themed anthology titled "V/H/S/Mixtape" that is slated to debut on Shudder this October. The production deal follows the companies securing the rights to the franchise.
