Blizzard hints at WoW: Forever console ports 'on whatever you want'

After 20 years on PC, Blizzard is seriously eyeing consoles for its MMO giant, per Eurogamer.

Holly Longdale, the vice president and executive producer on World of Warcraft: Forever, told GamesRadar the goal is to let players "play it wherever you want and, at some point, on whatever you want." The first step in that plan is the new controller support built into the upcoming 'Forever' version of the game.

Longdale specifically mentioned the rumored 'Xbox Project Helix,' a PC-console hybrid device, as an example of how platforms are becoming more blended. She also noted players are already getting the game running on handheld PCs like the ROG Ally X.

The controller work, she suggested, is about granting flexibility that "goes beyond consoles." World of Warcraft: Forever is scheduled to fully launch on November 4. According to the report, its beta was the largest in the franchise's history.
