Fan-made Zelda sequel The Glass of Fate targets a February 2027 launch

A fan-made continuation of a classic Legend of Zelda era now has a release target. Per ScreenRant, the game, titled The Glass of Fate, is aiming to launch its first part in February 2027.

The project, created by developer Justice 2 Free, is pitched as a follow-up to the stories of two beloved Nintendo 64 Zelda titles. It is not an official Nintendo product.

The game is being built in the Godot engine and features visuals inspired by the N64 era. The reveal trailer shows a hero resembling Link exploring a darkened land after receiving a call for help, potentially becoming cursed.

ScreenRant notes the developer has taken steps to avoid Nintendo's legal attention, releasing the trailer under the name Glass of Fate and altering the main character's design. The game is planned for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android, but will not be a ROM hack or playable on original N64 hardware.

In a statement shared by the outlet, the developer apologized for the game not being N64 compatible, citing technical limitations, and confirmed that animations seen in the trailer are still a work in progress.
