Final trailer for Brad Pitt's Heart of the Beast shows man and dog fighting for survival
Paramount has released the final trailer for David Ayer's wilderness thriller Heart of the Beast, per JoBlo. The footage is reportedly set to a cover of "Stand By Me" and focuses on the bond between Brad Pitt's character and his dog.
The film reunites Pitt with his Fury director, David Ayer. J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe also star. Cameron Alexander wrote the screenplay, with Damien Chazelle and Olivia Hamilton among the producers.
According to the official synopsis provided by the outlet, Pitt plays Special Forces officer James Belmont, who survives a plane crash with his combat dog, Odin. The pair must then fight for survival in the Alaskan wilderness.
Director David Ayer told JoBlo that the film was a major shift from their previous collaboration. He called it "the most difficult film I've made" due to its stripped-down nature, contrasting it with the large-scale war action of Fury and Pitt's recent work on the Formula 1 movie.
Ayer described the project as an "aesthetic of simple beauty" that left "nowhere to hide" for him and his star.
