Huge GTA 5 leak reveals scrapped Liberty City DLC and early GTA 6 files
A massive trove of leaked Rockstar Games files, reportedly around 192GB, has hit the internet, revealing a treasure trove of cancelled Grand Theft Auto V content and very early glimpses of GTA VI.
According to reports from GameSpot, Eurogamer, and Kotaku, the files contain evidence of a major Liberty City expansion for GTA 5 that was ultimately scrapped. YouTuber TJGM posted an outline of the DLC's map shoreline, which reportedly depicts a playable area much larger than the version seen in GTA IV.
The leak also reportedly includes assets and mission names from the long-rumored "Agent Trevor" single-player DLC. Actor Steven Ogg had previously mentioned this canned story, which would have seen his character working undercover for the government with jetpacks and a space station.
Furthermore, per Eurogamer, a former Rockstar camera artist suggested the DLC was shelved because the studio prioritized the massively successful GTA Online. The leak also reportedly hints at a cancelled zombie-themed expansion for protagonist Michael and his family.
In a separate but related find, Kotaku reports the files contain a very early version of GTA VI's map, seemingly built and tested within GTA V's engine around 2015. Comparisons suggest the core layout of the upcoming game's world has remained surprisingly consistent since that early prototype.
