Tony Hawk Kicked Out of Real Skate Park While Filming Pro Skater 3 Tribute

Tony Hawk was escorted out by security while trying to film a tribute to his classic video game at the real-world location it's based on, Kotaku reports.
The skateboarding legend posted a video to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, which first hit PlayStation 2. In the clip, set to the Ramones' "Blitzkrieg Bop," Hawk rolls through Los Angeles's Pershing Square, a business park that served as the clear inspiration for a level in the 2001 game.
Hawk attempted to recreate the idle stance and backdrop of his virtual avatar at the park, known for its distinctive red orbs and stone crescent benches. According to his social media post, the shoot was cut short when security "shoo'd" his team away.
"We got kicked out of Pershing Square while shooting this today," Hawk wrote, calling the ejection "very anticlimactic." The third Pro Skater title is still considered one of the series' best.
A remastered bundle of Pro Skater 3 and 4 was released in 2025 by developer Iron Galaxy.
