John Goodman Joins Netflix's The Beast in Me for Season 2

John Goodman is coming to Netflix. Variety reports the veteran actor has signed on for the second season of the thriller series "The Beast in Me."

He will appear opposite returning star Claire Danes, portraying her character's dad. The character's name is Jack, according to the trade. Specifics about the new season's story are being kept secret for now.

The show was initially billed as a limited series. TVLine notes it was renewed shortly after star Matthew Rhys won an Emmy for the first season. Executive producer Howard Gordon stated they would only move forward with more episodes if they found a story worthy of the first, claiming they have done so.

Goodman's other upcoming gig includes a role in the third season of HBO's "The Last of Us," per TVLine. The second season of "The Beast in Me" will see Howard Gordon co-showrunning with Daniel Pearle.
