Johnny Depp's Scrooge Debuts at Comic-Con in a Grouchy, Snowball-Throwing Trailer
Johnny Depp is back on the streets of Hollywood, or at least the Gaslamp District. The actor made a surprise, fully-costumed appearance at San Diego Comic-Con as Ebenezer Scrooge, according to reports from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. He popped up outside a 'Scrooge and Marley' shop and later in Hall H to debut the first footage.
Paramount Pictures dropped the trailer for 'Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol,' a dark holiday reimagining directed by Ti West. Per Variety, it marks Depp's first major Hollywood role since his 2022 trial. The trailer shows a grouchy, snowball-hurling take on the classic Dickens miser.
The stunt served as a major promotional push for the film, which hits theaters this November. It was a full character reveal, with Collider noting the debut of his 'iconic new fantasy character' and JoBlo reporting the first poster was also unveiled.
