Lana Condor recounts emotional ride with saved Looney Tunes film 'Coyote vs. Acme'
Lana Condor has opened up about the wild journey of her film 'Coyote vs. Acme', which was shelved before being saved and released. The actress told The Hollywood Reporter she initially had no idea a studio could cancel a project like that.
Condor recalled getting a confused call from co-star Will Forte, who broke the news the movie was being canned. She said she had just heard test screenings were going well, making the cancellation a shock. She described a subsequent cast and crew screening as a 'funeral,' but said watching the completed film only confirmed her belief it was good and should be seen.
Thankfully, she was right. Per JoBlo, the film hit digital-on-demand platforms just last week after a theatrical run. Condor told THR the entire experience, from grief to celebration, ultimately gave her 'a little bit more faith' in the industry.
The actress also revealed she's ready to return to her roots. After a year of action and thriller roles, Condor says her 'heart is with romance' and she plans to seek out projects in that genre moving forward.
