Limited Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Hardware Is Already Selling Out
Nintendo has officially unveiled the limited edition Switch 2 console and Pro Controller celebrating The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary, per VGC. The hardware is themed around the series' history, not just the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake.
Both items feature prominent Triforce designs, VGC reports. The console dock and Joy-Con controllers display the iconic symbol, while the Pro Controller has a similar motif with green and black handles. A special version of the Pro Controller that includes a display stand will be sold exclusively through Nintendo stores.
According to Nintendo Life, the items are already selling out rapidly. The US Nintendo Store lists the $519.99 console, the $99.99 Pro Controller, and the $109.99 Pro Controller with stand as sold out. The site also reports that amiibo and a themed carry case are gone.
Polygon notes that pre-orders are vanishing at major retailers. Stock is reportedly drying up online, and listings are already appearing on resale sites like eBay at inflated prices, a situation Nintendo Life attributes to scalpers.
The limited edition Switch 2 console and Pro Controller are scheduled for release on October 29.
