Mortal Kombat Deck-Building Game Smashes Kickstarter Goal

ScreenRant reports that a new Mortal Kombat tabletop game has become a massive hit on Kickstarter. The campaign for 'Fight!: Mortal Kombat 1 - Deck-Building Game' has rocketed past its initial funding target.
The game's goal was set at about $60,000. The project has now raised over $220,000, according to the campaign page from publisher Cryptozoic Entertainment.
The game promises to let players take on the role of MK1 characters. It uses a new 'Fight! Engine' designed for two-player battles but also supports up to four players. Game sessions are said to last between 30 and 45 minutes.
Backers who pledge enough will receive the core game. The campaign also mentions plans for three future expansions to add more characters and cards. The project serves as a new way for fans to engage with the franchise while awaiting news on the next major video game installment.
