Nintendo Explains Why Splatoon 4 Isn't Here Yet, As Spinoff Raves Roll In
The big question on fans' minds: where is Splatoon 4? Speaking to IGN, Nintendo developers explained the long-running series has been "going full speed ahead for over 11 years," which is why they opted to launch the new co-operative spinoff 'Splatoon Raiders' first.
And that spinoff is making a major splash. Per VGC, 'Splatoon Raiders' is a "challenging, all-out action game that's well worth 50 squid," calling it a one-trick thoroughbred. Eurogamer's review calls the Switch 2 exclusive a "hectic, often overwhelming delight."
Nintendo Life rounds up the praise, labeling the single-player focused title "incredibly compelling" and noting its fantastic multiplayer elements. The outlet's review suggests the game feels like a massive side mode from a hypothetical 'Splatoon 4' that simply got out of hand.
