Peacock cancels crime drama M.I.A. after its first season
Peacock has pulled the plug on its original crime drama M.I.A. after just one season, according to a report from Deadline that was cited by TVLine.
The series was created by Bill Dubuque, the mind behind Netflix's Ozark. It starred Shannon Gisela as Etta Tiger Jonze, a woman who discovers her family are drug runners. After her family is murdered, her character moves to Miami seeking revenge.
All nine episodes of the single season premiered on the streamer back on May 1. The show featured a supporting cast that included Danay Garcia, Cary Elwes, and Tovah Feldshuh.
M.I.A. now joins a growing list of one-and-done shows axed by Peacock in 2026. The streamer previously canceled the spy thriller Ponies starring Emilia Clarke in June, and ended The Copenhagen Test with Simu Liu in April. The long-running Law & Order: Organized Crime also met its end on the platform that same month.
TVLine notes it has reached out to Peacock for an official comment on the cancellation.
