Pierce Brosnan Says Next James Bond Could Be a Total Unknown
Pierce Brosnan believes the next actor to play James Bond might be a complete surprise. In an interview with The Times, the former 007 said the studio might choose a performer nobody is currently talking about, per Variety.
Brosnan told the outlet that there are many strong candidates in consideration. He said he follows the casting rumors but refuses to name any favorites, joking that his wife told him to stay quiet. He added that he never watches his own Bond films and is now just a fan waiting for the next installment.
The actor previously joked in 2025 about returning as an elderly version of the spy for director Denis Villeneuve, suggesting it could involve bald caps and prosthetics.
Variety notes that casting director Nina Gold is leading the search for the new Bond. While no official decision has been announced, names like Callum Turner and Aaron Taylor-Johnson have been linked to the role.
