Robert Pattinson Thanks Steven Soderbergh for Bat-Helping on 'Batman 2'

Robert Pattinson is singing the praises of Steven Soderbergh for stepping into the batsuit, so to speak, to finish shooting 'The Batman Part II'.

According to Variety, the actor told GamesRadar+ that Soderbergh is taking over principal photography after director Matt Reeves exited for a family matter earlier this month. Pattinson called the move "completely selfless."

"I am so happy he's come on to help Matt," Pattinson said, per THR. "It's incredibly generous of him... I think Matt had put so much work into the script, and we're almost done. So for someone to come in and say, 'I just want to help Matt do it'... is great."

Per the reports, Pattinson confirmed filming has already resumed, stating, "I think they're in production already. And I'm starting in a couple of days." Both outlets note Reeves clarified on social media he is not leaving the film, calling Soderbergh's aid "profoundly" helpful.

Warner Bros. announced the temporary pause on October 5, with the film's reported release date still set for February 18, 2028. Soderbergh said his goal is to generate footage that integrates seamlessly with what Reeves already shot.
