Pokémon reveals a slick new Gengar statue for its 30th anniversary
Pokémon’s 30th-anniversary party is still going strong. ScreenRant reports that a brand-new, officially licensed Gengar design was recently shown off.
The new piece is a high-end diorama from collectible maker Sideshow. It was unveiled at the PokémonXP event in San Francisco this past August. The statue features the classic Ghost-type's round body, pointed ears, red eyes, and wide grin, crafted into a more elaborate display.
According to ScreenRant, Sideshow has not released any details on cost, size, or when it will be available for purchase. The company showed the Gengar piece alongside a new Mewtwo statue. Fans can currently sign up on Sideshow’s website for updates.
The article notes that Gengar's standard look has stayed largely the same since 1996, though it has gotten alternate forms like Mega and Gigantamax Gengar in the games. This new statue isn't a canonical new form, but rather a fresh artistic take.
