Robert Pattinson Says 'The Batman Part II' Is a 'Real Left Turn'
According to an exclusive interview with Collider, Robert Pattinson has revealed that the upcoming sequel, 'The Batman Part II,' is taking a major creative detour.
Pattinson described the film as a "real left turn" from the first movie, telling the outlet it feels like another reinvention rather than a straightforward continuation. He said the sequel somehow retains the atmospheric feel of Matt Reeves's original while pushing the characters and world in a completely new direction.
The actor also revealed the script is incredibly dense. Pattinson told Collider he finds it hard to keep every narrative thread and character detail in his head, but noted that director Matt Reeves clearly has the entire sprawling vision mapped out.
This ambition suggests the sequel will not simply be another elaborate murder mystery with a new villain. Per Pattinson's comments, Reeves is building on the noir atmosphere and damaged Bruce Wayne from the first film to tell a much larger, more complex story.
The report notes the expanding world seen in the 'Penguin' series will likely feed back into Batman's story. The sequel is scheduled for release on February 18, 2028.
