Spider-Man sequel swings to third-biggest second weekend ever

Looks like Spidey's still got his web-shooters fully loaded. According to Variety, 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' hauled in a massive $43 million on its second Friday alone.

The weekend haul is expected to hit $143 million by Sunday, per TheWrap. That kind of hold reportedly puts it on track for the third-biggest second weekend in box office history, as noted by JoBlo.

Collider reports the Tom Holland-led sequel has already blasted past a major $1 billion MCU movie at the worldwide box office after just one week. TheWrap also claims the film could become the first ever to earn a billion dollars just from the U.S. and Canada.
