Spider-Man swings past Avatar to become India's top Hollywood earner
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has webbed up a new record in India. According to Variety, the Sony film is now the highest-grossing Hollywood release ever in the market.
A massive $10.6 million weekend pushed its total haul to $52.8 million, per studio figures. That's enough to swing past the previous record holder, Avatar: The Way of Water, which had a lifetime gross of $50.8 million.
The box office victory was reportedly anticipated, given the film's strong performance since its release.
