Stalker 2 Gets Major Expansion and Huge Free Update This August
Time to gear up for a return to The Zone. Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl's first major story expansion, Cost of Hope, finally has a release date. According to multiple reports, it's launching on August 20.
Per GameSpot, the DLC puts players back in control of protagonist Skif, who is following a mysterious PDA signal. Rock Paper Shotgun notes the expansion deals with the warring Duty and Freedom factions.
It won't be launching alone. IGN and others confirm Cost of Hope will arrive in tandem with a massive, free Update 2.0 for the game. This overhaul is expected to bring significant engine upgrades and tweaks, as reported by PC Gamer and Rock Paper Shotgun.
The content drops simultaneously across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, giving lapsed players a hefty reason to revisit the post-apocalyptic shooter.
