The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 finale leaves a trail of bodies
The season three finale of 'The Walking Dead: Dead City' delivered a bloody showdown in Manhattan, per TVLine. The episode opened with a flashback to villain Dillard's delusion, where he imagined his pet walkers talking with a sitcom laugh track.
In the present, Dillard had captured Luis's sister Renata and turned her into a walker, keeping her strapped to a table with her teeth removed. Using Luis as bait, Dillard tried to flush out Maggie and Negan. Maggie was determined to attack, but Negan cautioned they were outnumbered.
Their plan involved a three-person team. Negan led a walker horde as a distraction while Maggie released more zombies. Hershel swung across a street on a rope to rally captured civilians against Dillard's guards. During the chaos, Luis was freed by Maggie and later mercy-killed his walker sister, Renata.
The final confrontation saw Maggie shoot Dillard in the leg. Dillard then held a gun to Negan's head, forcing Maggie to drop her weapons. To 'prove' Maggie wasn't his friend, a panicked Negan stabbed her in the gut, and Dillard locked her in with approaching walkers.
Negan and Dillard fought until Maggie, saved by Luis, chopped off Dillard's arm with an axe as he was about to smash Negan's skull. Negan stopped Maggie from finishing Dillard, holding the dying man and saying he hoped he'd 'find what you're looking for.' Dillard's body was later seen reanimated among the walkers.
The season ended with Negan playing video games with new friends and Maggie giving him a security badge, tasking him with a new mission as they looked beyond Manhattan to the other four boroughs.
