Wildwood Gets Early Fan Screenings Next Week Ahead of Wide Release

The LAIKA animated film "Wildwood" is hitting big screens early for die-hard fans. TheWrap reports that special fan-first premium format screenings will be held nationwide on October 19, four days before the movie's official wide release on October 23.
Over 100 theaters are set to participate in the early rollout. Each showing will include a pre-recorded message from the film's director and LAIKA CEO, Travis Knight.
According to an official statement, David Burke, LAIKA's chief marketing and operations officer, said, "We made this film to be experienced on the big screen." He called the screenings an opportunity to celebrate the studio's fans. The film will also appear at major animation festivals in Hollywood.
Based on a book series, "Wildwood" follows a girl who ventures into a magical forest to rescue her baby brother after he's taken by crows. Tickets for the early October 19 screenings are on sale now at the film's official website and participating box offices.
