Zelda Anniversary Direct Tonight, Ocarina of Time Price Leaks Early
Nintendo is throwing a digital party for Zelda's 40th birthday later today with a special presentation. According to GameSpot, the broadcast will put the iconic franchise in the spotlight, though a separate general Nintendo Direct is still scheduled for next week.
Ahead of the show, a possible price for the upcoming Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time briefly appeared online. Nintendo Life reports that an Australian Nintendo Store listing showed a digital price of $94.95 AUD. The outlet notes this could convert to roughly $59.99 USD or £49.99 GBP, though regional pricing is not yet official.
Nintendo's Japanese social media account has set expectations for the 30-minute stream. Per Nintendo Life, the company stated the presentation will cover "non-game related initiatives" for the anniversary and provide details on the Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2. This has fueled speculation that news on the long-awaited live-action Zelda movie could be part of the non-game segment.
The Ocarina of Time remake is currently slated for a 2026 release. The anniversary showcase begins tonight at 11 PM in Japan.
