Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Gets November Date, Price, And Gameplay Details
Nintendo finally pulled back the curtain on its long-awaited overhaul of the classic N64 adventure, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Per VGC, the game is confirmed for a November 5, 2026, release on the Switch 2, setting up a major gaming month alongside Grand Theft Auto VI.
The news came via a dedicated Zelda anniversary Nintendo Direct, where series producer Eiji Aonuma showcased gameplay. According to reports from Polygon and Destructoid, the demo featured a modernized yet nostalgic visual style and several key updates. Link now has a dedicated jump button, can sprint, and Hyrule Castle Town no longer uses a fixed camera.
A new 'Threads of Time' feature acts as a story log and objective tracker, illustrated by a filling tapestry. Eurogamer reports that cutscenes will be fully voiced. One of the more novel additions, per Destructoid, is the ability to hum tunes into the console's microphone to activate ocarina songs in the game.
Ahead of the Direct, a pricing leak was spotted on the Australian Nintendo Store. IGN reports the digital edition was briefly listed at AUD $94.95, a price point that aligns with other standard, not premium, Switch 2 games.
Nintendo also revealed some physical offerings. ScreenRant notes a 'special packaging' with textured foil cover art will be available. Destructoid adds that new Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo figures are on the way, which will unlock in-game masks.
